Considering the fact that he admitted to his abominable crimes, Budeikin was not only arrested but he was also found guilty of “inciting at least 16 teenage girls to commit suicide,” and eventually convicted of two counts of ‘inciting suicide of a minor.’ And ironically, one of the other administrators of the game who had been caught as well, Ilya Sidorov, was also arrested but ended up committing suicide because of what he did. And the irony wasn’t lost on anyone.

A Twisted Mind

When people were trying to understand why someone would do something so evil as putting up a game that would entice impressionable teens to kill themselves, the man behind it even had the gall to claim he was doing them a favor. And given his motives behind his creation of the game, understandably, people soon realized that he himself was obviously quite sick in the head.
