Apparently, the tasks were created in order to wear the players down completely. Many of the tasks require the players to hurt themselves by carving letters and numbers on their hands or arms. Another asks them to do a few dare devil type activities like stand at the edge of a bridge. Then another task requests them to wake up at 4:20 a.m. for no reason whatsoever.

People had to wonder, why would these innocent kids end up actually committing suicide. And some claim that it was because whoever their ‘elder’ or ‘whale’ was, would threaten their families lives if they didn’t complete the game until the last task. And to make matters worse, the number of teenage suicides was rising, and many believed that this horrible game was to blame, one hundred percent.
