Fort Worth, Texas

Fort Worth is considered one of the larger cities in the United States with over 800,000 citizens. Not only does it boast of an amazing downtown area, it also has a number of Community Colleges in the area, which Erin was planning to choose from in order to go to school there. In the meantime, upon moving to Fort Worth with some friends, she was going to share an apartment with them, while looking for a job before enrolling in college.

Making The Move

Despite her father’s apprehensions about her choice to leave, he couldn’t stop Evelyn as she made the approximately 950-mile move from Chicago to Fort Worth. Because she was eighteen, she was legally considered an ‘adult,’ and could make her own decision to go, regardless of her father’s feelings or unease at the situation. Victor had shared, “And she bought a ticket and said ‘I’m leaving,” just like that.
