Not Everybody Was Happy With Their Union

Evelyn had explained to her father that her move to Texas, as well as moving in with her boyfriend, was something she really wanted to do. She says, “I wanted to do something new, you know, like have some sort of new experience.” But her dad, Victor, wasn’t happy about her relationship with Dallas at all. He said, “I think she was involved with a guy who was getting her in over her head.” And he may have been right on the money.

On November 5, 2016, Evelyn was due to go to work that evening, but before her shift, she decided to take a nap. According to her boyfriend, his mom was supposed to pick her up from their place and drop her off at her job at Walmart. Dallas explains, “So my mom called me at about 10 o’clock and told me that she went to the house to pick up Evelyn and that she wasn’t there.”
