Her Father Rushes To Her Side

Evelyn’s father got the phone call that all parents fear when their children are not with them. He received a call saying that not only had his daughter been brutally attacked, but that she was in critical condition in John Peter Smith Hospital in Texas. He made the quickest trip he could from Chicago to Fort Worth, but nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to see when he entered his daughter’s room.

 She Should Have Been Dead

The doctor’s warned Victor about what he was about to encounter. He recalls, “Before I went into the room the doctors said, “You know, ‘We need to prepare you. She has coaxial blindness and she’s very, very weak and almost paralyzed on the right side of her body’.” But despite that, he was still going to get the shock and agonizing heartbreak of his life.
