It’s not uncommon for people to log on to any free wifi they can find while traveling. Everyone knows that Internet access can become quite costly while traveling, hence the ‘Free Wifi’ search when booking your hotel for your next holiday. In Singapore, logging onto an unsecure network is actually punishable by law due to the Computer Misuse Act, which protects against hacking, and you can actually get jailed up to 3 years. That’s a long time to sit in a prison cell just to check how many likes you may have gotten on your last Instagram post.
