In Singapore, it’s not only customary for people who use public toilets to flush, but you can get actually caught if you don’t. While it shows respect for the person who needs to use the loo after you, it’s also just completely sanitary to do so, for you included. While this doesn’t necessarily require common sense, it does require manners, which sadly, not everyone has.
