Don’t Spit

Given that chewing gum, littering and graffiti are all activities that are not allowed in Singapore, this one is a no-brainer. Unless you’re brushing your teeth or you’re at the dentist and are required to spit afterwards, there seems to be no reason why you’ll need to spit in public. Once again, Singapore takes this rule very seriously and if you get caught, you can get fined up to $1000, so save it for the sink.

Don’t Eat In Only Fancy Restaurants

While Singapore has its fair share of fancy restaurants, it also has an incredible number of street vendors, hole in the wall eateries and the best of all, Hawkers Markets. These food centers contain every single kind of to-die-for delicacy that country has to offer. And like what Nick Young of Crazy Rich Asians tells his adorable girlfriend Rachel Chu in the film, “This is one of the only places in the world where street food vendors actually earn Michelin stars.” Crazy, but true.
