Don’t be in a rush or take punctuality too seriously as the Spanish are quite laid-back and tend to have a very relaxed sense of time particularly on social gatherings. When invited to a party, it is normal to show up a half hour later and still be on time if not early.

Service in restaurants might take a while as well, both for the server to take your order and probably be even longer to be served. Don’t get too worked up over this and enjoy a drink or two to pass the time instead. Not surprisingly, the lunches and dinners themselves are also long and unhurried. ”
