Graduating High School
After one final try to make their failing marriage to work, his parents decided to end it. After Jeffrey’s dad moved out of their house in 1978, Jeffrey and his younger brother, David, were left in the care of their mentally unstable mother. But Jeffrey also turned 18 that year, and was now considered an ‘adult,’ and while his brother was put under Joyce’s legal custody, Jeffrey was not. And since his dad had moved out, and his mother took David and moved in with family in Wisconsin, Jeffrey was left all alone in their Ohio home.
