It would be 20 years that Kim would be in and out of psychiatric wards and homes for troubled teens, never knowing the truth of her genuine mental state. Although Kim had a number of different interpretations of her disease, doctors still couldn’t manage to get it right. Because Kim had a number of varying personalities, she was always switching, but without her knowledge. Plus, in her particular case, she had zero recollection of what each and every personality would do. It was strenuous to deal with, but, for the time being, it would seem that a few of her dominant personalities would end up ‘taking over,’ making it bearable to survive.
