What They Found Out
Though finding the Hunley may have been a major breakthrough, archaeologists were even more amazed at what they discovered inside the ship. The hatch was not severely damaged and there was no evidence that the crew was trying to escape. To some, it seemed they were not aware of the danger they were in.
