21) Asbestos Cause Cancer
Between 1930 and 1960, manufacturers did all they could to prevent the link between asbestos and respiratory diseases – including cancer – from becoming known. This was so they could avoid prosecution.
But as early as 1932, the Johns Manville company began to get sued by American workers. Not until 1962 did epidemiologists establish beyond any doubt that asbestos causes cancer.
