So many possibilities

Because people from all over the world were so invested in the young McCann’s vanishing, interest in her story never really went away. Even 6 years later, a photo of a young blue-eyed blonde girl went viral because of comparability to Madeleine. Soon after though, people took note that the girl in the photo was much too young. Madeleine would have been 11 years old by then, and the girl was clearly much younger.

Strength even in sorrow

Despite the TV sighting coming back with negative results, Kate and Gerry McCann were grateful to all who were still on the look out for their daughter. A close family friend had even told the New Zealand Herald, “What is encouraging is that it shows everyone is still looking for Madeleine. That will give her family great strength.”
