False security

Aside from the cries in the night, supposedly the resort had written down that the adults had left their children sleeping in their respective apartments while they all went out to dine. Because of this, the McCann’s believed that there was a big possibility that someone could have seen what was written in the note and took advantage of the kids being left alone. Regrettably, this could have been the real reason why Madeleine was taken from the resort on that fateful night.

Mean to a fault

Not only had the media began to blame the parents for her disappearance, rumors of Madeleine’s case began to circulate all over the world. It was already assumed that everyone practically believed that the parents were negligent, leaving their young children alone at night in their vacation apartment. Speculations of Madeleine’s death arose, saying the parents were covering up an accidental drug overdose. Others have said that she was taken by a child trafficking syndicate group and sold. But sadly, no one has been able to prove any of these theories as of yet.
