Searching for clues

As soon as Madeleine was discovered missing, a frantic search for her began almost immediately. Gerry asked one of his friends who was with them, Matthew Olfield, to go to the apartment reception to report her disappearance and to call the police. So began the frenzied search for the three-year-olds whereabouts, trying to piece together any information that they might find about her sudden disappearance. All the staff from the resort, as well as the other hotel guests, helped with the search, creating an almost 60 person hunt for the little blue-eyed angel.

Lost opportunities

It seems though, that throughout the evening when the different parents would go to their rooms and check in on the kids, many of them had seen things that they would only later on realize could be clues to Madeleine’s disappearance. First, Jane Tanner had said that upon checking on her own daughter earlier in the evening, she had seen a man carrying a young child in flowery pajamas resembling Madeleine’s own sleeping clothes. Could that have been her?
