He Finally Confessed

Eventually, the police questioned Kevin enough that they were able to get a confession out of him. Whether it was because he knew that he could no longer run away from his horrible deeds, he ended up confessing what he had done to Ashley. Not only had she not gotten out of the car, they hadn’t even made it to New Orleans. Instead, he had killed her by slitting her throat and supposedly thrown her body into a lake.

Searching The Backyard

After disclosing this to the authorities, this would prompt them to search Kevin’s father’s backyard. It would be here that they would find burnt remains of Ashley’s body in a bonfire pit, including glasses that looked just like a pair that Ashley owned. While the police were relieved that they finally knew what had happened to Ashley, they were also going to find out the answer to a three-year old cold case they had been dying to solve for so long.
