A crippling blow to the investigation
Although it was initially established that Mike was innocent, nearly everyone involved in the case – including Sheriff Yowell, the original sheriff who looked into the case – now think otherwise. As for Tanner, he still believes that when that fatal shot killed his mom, the gun fired in his hands. Jill’s case remains open to this day, and with Mike’s death from drug overdose, it may take a little while longer before the case is solved.
