Signs

First of all, according to the police, Leuthold seemed too calm when the police told him of his wife’s murder. But that’s not all. As they went to check the scene of the crime, there were no signs of burglary except for the broken glass on the door. And as they looked closer, they noticed that the house looked too neat and orderly.

Finding Clues

Richard Linthicum, a Peoria police officer, was called after the burglary was reported. He then went to the scene and looked around. He noticed that none of the electronics were missing, which was unusual if a burglar had truly entered the house. He also inspected the kitchen and saw that the drawers were placed neatly on the floor rather than haphazardly dumped. The pieces of the puzzle certainly didn’t fit. More importantly, what he found inside the murder scene just didn’t corroborate Leuthold’s claims.
