Dobilaite flat-out denied the affair. She said that she only viewed Leuthold as a mentor and a teacher who took her under his wing when she needed help the most. She did say that the accused paid for her expenses and took her on trips to Europe, but that was the extent of their relationship. But people started doubting her statements when additional evidence was presented.

The Spa Owner Testifies

A spa owner testified during the trial as well. Paula Hinton recalls how Nathan Leuthold would constantly get gift certificates for his wife. They were both regular customers. However, they never did go together. In fact, Hinton mentioned that she never realized that they were married to each other until the trial.
