His Defense

Leuthold had his attorney, Hugh Toner, speak on his behalf. He was unwavering when he said that somebody broke into their home to shoot his wife. He expressed pain on her loss, but otherwise remained stoic all throughout the trial. And when he was given a chance to speak, he said that he continued to pray of strength, especially after losing his wife.

Media Access

All throughout the trial, media was given access to the courtroom proceedings. People began to watch the trial like a hawk, especially when the alleged mistress took the stand. They wanted to know what happened, but many of them already reached the conclusion that he was definitely the mastermind behind it all.
