Woodland Heights
This neighborhood is suitable for families seeking to buy homes, and has varied styles and time periods for houses.It is one of the oldest and more historic neighborhoods in Houston. Most houses have driveways or garages, and some have beautiful big trees and well-kept gardens. This neighborhood was one of the first in the US to be linked together via a community email list. It is also known throughout Houston for its annual “Lights in the Heights” celebration every December, which closes the streets to vehicles for several blocks and is illuminated with thousands of luminaria (small paper lanterns). It showcases live music, carriage rides, and food and drink stalls.
