Montrose
Definitely one of the most offbeat, eclectic neighborhoods in Houston known for its vintage stores, deliciously diverse eateries, and gay bars. It has an established art culture with several hip indie art galleries. A selling point is that everything is within walking distance. You can enjoy picnics at Eleanor Tinsley Park with views of its downtown skyline. Rent is a bit on the high side, but worth every dollar.
