A great suffering for their loss
Two years later, the family of one of the researchers who had been killed in the incident wrote a letter to the presiding judge of the case. The letter told the judge about out how the family suffered greatly from their loss, but they saw no benefit from the loss of another. In response, Amy Bishop’s lawyers offered to change her plea to guilty in exchange for not seeking the death penalty against her.
