Time Heals All Wounds

As the saying goes, ‘Time Heals All Wounds,’ and this was truer than most for the story of McGee and Collins. Not only did McGee forgive Collins completely, they ended up forming a bond unlike any other. In fact, McGee had even come to love Collins, as Collins did McGee. Collins explains of the day that McGee actually told his now very good friend that he loved him, “I just started weeping because he doesn’t owe me that. I don’t deserve that.”

A Friendship Unlike Any Other

McGee has been asked more than once about how he came to forgive the man who had taken away four years of his life that he could never get back. And he responded by saying that he did it, “For our sake,” meaning that “our sake” meant ‘humanity as a whole.’ He wanted the rest of the world to see that he could set an example of true forgiveness, and share how God’s amazing love and grace has worked in their lives.
