“Help my sister.”
According to 1997 Omaha World-Herald article, Sgt. William Muldoon recalled how harrowing the moment was when they finally discovered the little girls. “The one was covering and huddling over the other,” he said. “She (Kourtney) said, ‘Help my sister.’”
No time for an ambulance
There was no time to call and wait for an ambulance. The officers quickly wrapped Jennifer around their coats and brought her to a waiting police car in haste. The other officers brought Kourtney to another car. They drove the twins to St. Joseph Hospital.
