“We found the shoes first and we looked up and we could tell further down that’s where they were at. When you first see that shoe, OK, this is getting worse, shoes and no kids and it’s cold out,” Officer Kister said.
A heart-breaking end to the search
They searched desperately, until, just 15 feet away, there they were – Jennifer and Kourtney – huddled tightly together in the snow in an alley off Center Street. Kourtney was on top of Jennifer as if shielding her against the cold because she had taken off her coat.
