A trail of footprints
“I just saw the lights on and front door open and hand prints on the door,” Thomas said in an interview. “I yelled for Marlene, ‘the girls are gone’ and we started looking. I didn’t know where to look. I saw footprints but once I got down to the street, there were too many prints to follow so it was scary.”
No forced entry
Thomas wasted no time in calling the police. A thorough search was conducted inside the house as soon as they arrived. There were no signs of forced entry. The twins could have ventured outside on their own – in freezing January morning temperatures – carrying with them their bags filled with snacks.
