Safe and secure
They lived in a house, which, at the time, was among the only few homes in the middle of a busy commercial district. But it was a home conducive for raising little kids because it was secured with fences. And because the house seemed safe and secure enough, no one could have thought about what was about to happen to the Woracek twins.
They were not in their beds
At around 4:00 AM of January 17, any parent’s worst fear happened. Thomas got up to get ready for work. He found some of the lights in some of the rooms were left on. He checked the bedrooms of the girls, but Jennifer and Kourtney weren’t in their beds.
