Howard Hughes

Billionaire Howard Hughes was a very successful movie producer back when movies were just becoming a major source of entertainment. And back in 1936, Hughes happened to hit a pedestrian named Gabriel Meyer, who wistfully ended up dying due to his injuries. It had been found that Hughes was drinking earlier that day, but supposedly he wasn’t drunk at the time of the accident. In spite of negligent homicide charges being set originally, they were dropped later on. Still, Hughes would go on to pay the Meyer family $20,000.
