Out of Danger

Chris called Mission Hospital to alert the trauma team. They were able to open the jaws of the SUV and take out the man from underneath the rubble of melting parts and hot metal. The man was in a gurney within seconds and was in the ambulance. This was when Chris realized who he had just helped.

The victim’s name was Michael Shannon. Could this be the very man who had saved his life 30 years before? And as they traveled to the hospital, the feeling of recognition grew stronger. This time, he stayed by the doctor’s side all throughout. He made sure that Shannon lived despite a perforated intestine and second to third-degree burns on his feet. He stayed there as part of his toe had to be amputated and the doctors had to remove shards of glass from all over his body.
