Giving Support

At that time, there was no ICU at Mission Hospital. This simply meant that the doctors were responsible for giving the proper care to their respective patients. Dr. Shannon made sure he stayed on top of the situation. He did what he could to rule out anything before providing the baby with the proper care.

Proper Protocol

The moment baby Chris was with Dr. Shannon, he took a blood sample from the baby in order to rule out meningitis. He also did a spinal tap and was thorough with the examination. Then, he provided an IV drip to take care of the fever. The doctor then saw just how tired and stressed the parents were. So, he did something that not every doctor would do.
