Although Nick’s lawyer, criminal defense attorney Brian Murphy, tried to get the charges against him lessened, Nick would still plead guilty to four counts of murder. While the crime was described in the courtroom in detail, Nick openly cried listening to what he had done. And while he will live out many years in prison for his crimes, because of his guilty plea, it was agreed that he would not, at least, receive the death penalty.
