Church Leader And Scoutmaster

For those who knew John, they remembered him to be a doting and very involved father. Not only was he one of their church’s leaders, but he was also a scoutmaster for his son’s Eagle Scouts. He would bring the group on many expeditions including hiking, camping, rock climbing, white water rafting and many other activities.

Looks Can Be Deceiving

Apparently, what not many others knew about John though was that he was also very strict with his boys, especially his eldest son Nick. According to one of Nick’s classmates, John Lockwood, “He [Nick] often complained about his father, and I specifically remember him saying he would kill his family one day in a joking manner.”
