Asking For Forgiveness

Nick, who was unable to speak during his hearing being overly emotional, asked his lawyer to speak on his behalf as he begged forgiveness from his remaining relatives. A portion of his statement had said, “I cannot make the pain go away… I never considered what effect my actions would have. I thought only of myself…”

Serving Out His Sentence

After Nick served 5 years of his active sentence, in 2014, his lawyer attempted to request that his all 4 of his life sentences be served together rather than one after the other. Many believed that he could use mental health treatment from the Patuxent Institution to truly help him understand the full reason why he would do something so horrific since he was just a teen when he did it, but the judge denied the request. It would seem that the judge believed that what he did warranted his sentencing, and so the earliest he will actually be paroled will be sometime in 2032, if that day ever comes.
