According to Gordon, the park was such a success, but come summer, it was too hot for children who were secured in wheelchairs all day. He says, “Fewer people were visiting in July because the wheelchairs got too hot. So we decided to create a water park next door.” The building cost for the additional water park was going to be another $17 million, but they were able to make it come to fruition.
