Some unknown financial issues
Richard made contact with his sons Matthew and Douglas on their birthdays. He even sent them each $50. It was the last time they ever heard from their dad. It was around that time when it was revealed that Richard had ruined their family’s finances. He’s made some bad debts and even faked Linda’s signature to secure a loan. When Linda filed for a divorce, Richard was ordered to settle some unpaid taxes and loans, including some 26 unpaid credit card bills.
Left alone to face the difficulties
In the midst of all the financial troubles that Linda had been left alone to deal with, the Police were questioning Linda on Richard’s disappearance, as though she knew where her husband might be “hiding” or that she might know what really happened to him despite her telling them several times that she had no idea where he went, much less what was going on.
