Incredible police claim
One of the detectives claimed that it was all a scam and that Linda was in on it. He claimed that Linda knew where Richard was and that they had a plan of escaping somewhere with their children. Linda brushed off the allegation and focused her attention on dealing with her financial woes instead.
Financially ruined
Richard ran his family’s finances aground. Linda was no longer able to pay the mounting bills, forcing her to file for bankruptcy. With two children to raise and with no husband by her side, it was all too much to bear for Linda. She ended up asking her parents for financial support while she sorted things out.
