Finding A Receipt

While searching the yacht, investigators would find a receipt of items that were bought on November 17. The list of items was quite telling too, it showed that someone had bought ‘bleach and heavy-gauge garbage bags.’ But it was the name on the receipt that would lead them right where they needed to be. It had been bought by one of Deleon’s family members, which led them straight to Skylar.

Questioning Deleon

Police would finally reach Deleon on November 29, over 14 days from the time that the Hawks’ had last been seen. Deleon would tell the police that he had bought the yacht from them, and that was all, he even had the documents to prove it. He even named his accomplice, Machain, as a witness, then strangely, he would tell the authorities that he had bought the boat for money laundering purposes for a drug deal.
