Why Did He Do It?

Throughout Deleon’s trial, his lawyers would attempt many times to blame his awful childhood, as well as his sadistic father for the cruel actions that he took that day. In fact, they were saying that he didn’t even truly do it for monetary gain but because of his incredibly troubled childhood. And when Deleon’s father was interviewed about it, he had said, “I wanted him to be so different from me. I did everything I could to bring him up right. And he turned out worse than me.” And the irony of his statement wasn’t lost on anyone considering the kind of childhood he had subjected his son to.

There Was Another Reason

Strangely, while in jail, Deleon was reported to have attempted to give himself a sex change. He himself said, “I basically took a sheet and tied it around my lower extremity… I tied it around and I went to cut it off.” Jail guards got to him first, rushing him to the hospital, which unfortunately for him, left him a man. Allegedly, he had done all of this because he wanted money for a sex change. It was all very odd, but supposedly, all very true.
