Three Days Is Nothing Compared

The procedure would be successful albeit horribly painful for Lyle for the next week or so. But Lyle would share, “Three days of pain is nothing compared to what this guy is going through.” And while his pain would fade, he could be grateful knowing that he was able to make a world of difference in the lives of quite a few people, especially for the patient’s young daughter.

A Year Of Consent

Apparently, the donation program ‘Be The Match’ is very strict about their patient – donor communication. Not only did both parties have to sign a consent form, it would mean that neither side could get in touch with the other for a year, nor could they know anything about the person on either side until after 30 days had passed from the procedure. Lyle would only hear whether his bone marrow donation had been a positive transfer around a month or so afte the entire procedure was done.
