Anything Is Possible

Amazingly, on the day that Lyle donated his marrow, he had gotten a card that read “Anything is possible” on the inside. And after three months of waiting, he would hear that not only was the bone marrow transplant successful, the 28-year old was scanned, which showed ‘no sign of leukemia. He was clear,’ and he even managed to get out of the hospital five whole weeks before he was supposed to.

NCAA Award Of Valor

Lyle would end up receiving the NCAA Award of Valor which ‘recognizes a courageous act or noteworthy bravery by an individual associated with intercollegiate athletics.’ Although Lyle shares, “It was kind of a no-brainer for a decent human. I couldn’t imagine just waiting. He could have been waiting for years for a match. I’d hope that someone would donate to me if I needed it.”
