Vietnamese Boat People
An image taken in 1984 shows Vietnamese refugees waiting to be taken aboard the USS Blue Ridge during a rescue operation, 350 miles northeast of Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. The refugees who fled their country by any means possible by boat and ship where mainly from Hoa. They sought refuge from a country in turmoil for another chance of a peaceful and progressive life. This image is a reminder that there is always hope on the other side of the horizon.
