A Cry for Help

In 1968, during the first Battle of Saigon, Philip Jones Griffith was able to capture this heart-breaking image of a mother desperately crying for help. The Battle of Saigon was the coordinated attack by communist forces, including both the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong (VC), against the capital of South Vietnam. This image is a stark reminder of the casualties of war – innocent women and children.
