Melanie Road was 17 years old at that time she was killed. It started out innocently enough. She went out with her friends and boyfriend at a nightclub in Bath in June of 1984. She had fun, decided to walk home not too long after, and thought that she’d be in her bed soon enough. She was definitely mistaken. Little did she realize that there was a man waiting for her, lurking in the shadows. He wanted to take advantage of this poor innocent teenager.
He definitely got what he wanted, but little did Melanie’s family realize that justice would only come to them decades after.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED
So, how exactly was Melanie murdered? To start with, there was an abundant amount of evidence collected. She left the nightclub in the wee hours of the morning and on June 9, 1984, a milkman and his son found her body at approximately 5:30 in the morning. That was when the police were called and they started their thorough investigation.
