Arresting Benjamin
As soon as they saw the body, the authorities took Benjamin Byers into custody. And despite the questions that they kept asking him, he denied speaking to any of them without a lawyer present. Police knew they had their man, they just needed to go the full mile in order to rightfully put him behind bars.
The Charges Against Him
The charges brought against him were ‘second-degree murder, armed criminal action, abandonment of a corpse and endangering the welfare of a child.’ Prosecution asked for a $500,000 bond, knowing that there was a very unlikely chance anyone would pay the fee to get him out.
