Phil would go on to take up Graphic Arts while in California State University in Northridge, and this would lead him to put up his own business. Due to his successful business venture, he would end up boasting that he had created at least 40 album covers for well-known bands such as America and Poco, as well as the logo for the infamous Crosby, Stills & Nash. This would later on be his steppingstone to becoming a roadie for a band, the whole while living his life smoking pot, surfing and meeting lots and lots of women while on the road.
