Making the Decision

The officers who testified may have chosen to overlook his behavior, but what they couldn’t let go of was the timeline. It took him 11 hours before he called the police. And when they looked deeper into his life, they discovered not one, but two women he had been violent with. While on the outside he seemed calm, he was definitely a man with a tainted past. More importantly, the fact that she apparently filed for divorce right before she died was a big warning sign.

The Trial

Dale remained resolute about his innocence, even during the trial. However, the jury disagreed. He was sentenced to 112 years in prison for the second-degree murder of Stephanie Roller, part of the sentencing was the two counts for first-degree assault and the three counts for tampering with physical evidence. And while he still stands by his statement, his friends now have their doubts. He had kept secrets from them and the most damning evidence was the fact that while he defended his children’s wellbeing, he didn’t seem to care enough for Stephanie. And whatever the case may be, those who had loved the woman felt that justice was finally served.
