Want to be taken back to as far as the 1930s? The Wigwam Motel in Arizona, one of the surviving Wigwam motel chains, is the place to be. The highlight of the distinctive hotel in Holbrook is its “retro-unique” appeal—a retro original that showcases the uniqueness of quirky little teepees of the Plains Indians. WigwamArizona.com explains: Architect Frank Redford developed the idea of clustering together the teepees in 1937. He later coined the term Wigwam Village suggestive of the 15 teepees that form an Indian community.
