5 Weeks Later

The police were getting desperate for some answers. They just needed to figure out how they could pin down their guy. Then finally, one of the crime analysts recalled them talking about a white pickup truck seen in the surveillance video. Just 3 weeks before, ‘a woman had called to report a suspicious pickup truck parked on the street with a man inside.’ And they realized, it was reported from a location less than one block away from the Lakewood victim’s place of residence.

They Had A Picture

The car was a white Mazda pickup with the plate number 935VHX. When they checked the car, it was registered to a man named Marc Patrick O’Leary. When Detective Galbraith got the photo, she checked it against the truck in all the surveillance tapes they had studied from the prior rapes. Both trucks had a few particular similarities; a broken mirror on the right side, ‘smudges’ at the back in the exact same place, and a tow ball. Det. Galbraith would go on to say, “That’s our guy.”
